Vallejo convenience store hit with healthy makeover

It may take a generation or two, but if the two dozen or so volunteers who converged on the south Vallejo 7-Eleven store Friday have their way, the city will eventually be a healthier place to live and raise a family.

That store, at the corner of Magazine Street and Lincoln Road East, is one of three Solano County shops -- the only one in Vallejo -- to get a "healthy makeover," as part of a countywide campaign to fight obesity and the problems that go with it, like diabetes and heart disease, county health officials said.
